Waterlake Farm House 3

This is an intimately scaled 3 bedroom house in the beautiful Waterlake Farm Estate outside Pretoria.

It is our third project in this Estate and hopefully not our last! The plan layout is in an H-shape to maximise northern exposure for living and sleeping areas. It also serves to create two courtyards: a screened-off entrance courtyard to the street side and a private garden courtyard on the living side. The design allows clear views of the watering hole to the northwest of the property. Roan and sable antelope frequent the watering hole. Adequate protection against the western sun is giving to these openings. External materials include flush jointed face brick, plaster and paint and pre-painted (Chromadek) concealed fix roof sheeting (Saflock 700). The structure will be on a raft foundation due to clay soil conditions.
